After changing their name back again from Pyramiddd and releasing Julius as a 7″ vinyl single in 2010, Starfucker (sometime stylized as STRFKR to appease the masses) is back again. They will be releasing their third full length album in March, Reptilians. From what I’ve heard so far the album sticks dead on to their indie dance-pop roots, yet still maintaining a diverse sound throughout. They range from the synth heavy sounds of Julius and Millions to the rockin feel of Death as a Fetish, Astoria, and the album’s namesake Reptilians; utilizing their drum machines like nobody’s business. The album is actually pretty dark lyrically, focusing a lot on death and the apocalypse, yet the songs do not actually give off that feeling of dark and depressed in the slightest. Be sure to stay on the lookout for when this album drops, it should not be missed! Enjoy the samples! (MySpace)
