Hey Australia, you guys got some dope bands! Boy and Bear is a five piece band hailing from the continent that is truly churning out some quality music lately. Any band that cites eighty percent of its members being able to provide vocals, plus one dude who can rock a mandolin, is OK in my book. Mexican Mavis has a sweet simple melody, a light playful guitar, and a super catchy singalong quality to it. The pop influence is obvious, but we like the Southwestern feel to the group – having a solid lead vocalist doesn’t hurt either. The only thing we’re wondering is, when are they going to drop the full length? (MYSPACE / BUY)
